Cada vez son menos las excusas para comprar una laptop por #movilidad para trabajar a distancia. Aunque la velocidad sigue siendo una muy buena.

Las #iPad se vuelven cada vez más versátiles, y las apps de acceso a distancia (#TeamViewer supliendo el viejo ssh, por ejemplo) de los equipos estáticos cierran gran parte de la brecha.

Ahora, sí tan solo hubiera una manera de leer discos de imágenes (#TAC #IRM #US) o tener máquinas virtuales, podría yo botar la #MBPro.

I'm considering buying an external #opticaldrive that is supposed to work well with my #MBPro (2019, so with Intel inside).
The main purpose of this device is to read music CDs and to import them to iTunes so I have my music both on CDs and stored on the HD of my laptop.

Does anybody here have a recommendation based on own experience and combined with Mac devices?

So no need for console commands or other weird shit. And luckily that imbecile throwing over a beer has not damaged my #MBPro but only thrown my work flow off the rails for about 1.5 days.
The most maddening thing was that this imbecile would not move a finger to clean up the mess she had caused, would not apologize and would not buy a new beer after spilling someone else's.
That's the most infuriating aspect of this entire episode, really.

Two days ago at the pub, a careless and egocentric person (aka an imbecile) threw over a beer on the same table that my #MBPro #laptop was on.
I picked it up right away and cleaned it, and there seemed to be no issues. But despite not havong been flushed with beer the USB C ports were unresponsive to the SD card reader.
Luckily the USB C ports were responsive to the power cable. And it turns out that after having the power cable plugged in for a while each port was back in action. 1/2

Why the hell does my #MBPro change the location it saves #screenshots at 1. without telling me and 2. without telling me what that new location is?
And how do I tell that piece of #Cupertino junk to stop doing such BS at this very moment and save those bloody screenshots on the desktop as it did for years?
Shit like this is really making me mad. Stop doing this kind of crap, #Apple. You are creating quite some inconvenience with this.

Today I was building my #Rust Web Service on an #Apple #M1Pro… holy shit… on my EC2 instance with 4 #Xeon procs a release build usually takes 3:30mins, on the #mbpro just 1min!!! Crazy times.

Updated my #MBPro to Big Sur 11.3.1 this week. As a "reward", I now constantly lose my connection to the #wifi. This does NOT happen either on my old MBAir with Yosemite 10.10.5 nor on my Sony Android smartphone.

So chances are extremely high that #CupertiNONONO botched another #OS update and built in a mightily annoying bug. And NOPE, that is not a feature.

Yo, rotten #Apple: Get your shit together and come up with a fix. Big Sur 11.3.2 without this connectivity glitch. Bunch of pricks.

Just tried to import some old audio CDs to iTunes by feeding the CDs into my old 2011 #MBPro. Three of four CDs were not readable and got ejected. Strangely, the oldest CD (Mother's Milk, Red Hot Chili Peppers) was the only readable one. Strange stuff, probably need to lend an external optical drive and try again...

And on this #ValentinesDay... I will unpack my new #MBPro 16incher and set it up. Wish me luck, haha.

No Butterfly keyboard anymore and a substantially bigger battery: Sounds as if #Apple has done a lot right with the new #MBPro 16-incher. Sounds as if they have actually listened to professional users rather than hipsters. Good! #electronics

I do not like my old (t)rusty #MBPro telling me that the SSD I had built in a few years ago only has 1GB left. Time to do a backup and to keep everything older than 5 years off the SSD and only on the external HD. #data #work
