Dear #McClatchy papers. I find the fact that I seemingly always need to sign back into your apps, a big ad to become a subscriber, actually insulting.

It really feels like you want to go out of business sometimes.

The fact that at least two #McClatchy papers ( The #SacramentoBee and the #MiamiHerald ) simply don't work right with Zotero is prime evidence about why the photographer from Getty told me this weekend at Miami Pride that McClatchy too broke to pay for photos. Newspapers are dying because they have a s*** business model on a run by dinosaurs

I’m very #confused. I am asking this sincerely: How do #newspaper executives decide how much one of their #journalists is worth? How is it decided that a #reporter is worth 45k, but 57k is asking too much?

Furthermore, why are successful #news corporations so quiet as they observe these #strikes… Are #Reporters #picketing against #gannett and #mcclatchy really asking for too much? Where is the support? Where is the #urgency to find a solution?

While there is a lot of focus on how the debacle at Twitter is adversely affecting journalism, its worth remembering regular media companies are doing a hell of a job on their own. Currently the staff of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram are on strike after failing to reach an agreement with McClatchy which owns the paper.
