One of the weaker entries.
1️⃣ A disgruntled mobster has apparently put out a hit on the Commissioner, and an innocent woman is shot/killed while talking to him. Of course, after an array of suspects connected to her has been established, we know that she was the real target all along. But it takes our heroes a very long time to deduce this. Even though Mac doubted the hit rumours at the very start.
2️⃣ The identity of the villain does come as a surprise.
