Apropos of nothing at all, the Obsidian (notes) app is pretty fantastic these days. If you what you want is a directory (tree) full of plain-text files as markdown-formatted text, don’t mind .md as the extension, and want a great app with flexible syncing and formatting and themes and a very active community…well it has all of those.

I used it when it was young and wasn’t convinced. Now, it’s just great.
