It's happening! I am decorating the Jiang Yanli/Jin Zixuan cake! Here's a progress shot. Using a failed buttercream as the crumbcoat because I am covering it with fondant later.
(For an actually great buttercream recipe, I used Ann Reardon's 1-to-5 ratio buttercream without adding anything else. This is a trust the process recipe, but fuck, that buttercream will not move once it sets. Arm workout level intense, though.
