I would recommend the liberal use of hashtags, because there’s no algorithmic visibility and search only works for people and hashtags … so maybe you can pioneer #MeanwhileInAustralia (I see quite a few #MeanwhileIn … autocompleted when searching!). Also, the ability to follow a hashtag (so it shows on your home timeline) is v handy. A personal fav is #DogsOfMastodon 😃
