I guess I think about being a #Christian a lot like eating #meat.
There are people who eat meat only once a week. People who don't eat red meat, but eat other kinds of meat. People who eat meat the socially expected amount. People who eat almost exclusively meat. And people who insist that vegans start eating meat.
They're doing different amounts and kinds of harm to society. They can do less harm by eating less meat. But they're all doing at least some harm to society.
We shouldn't wage a war against them. But we shouldn't withhold our criticism of their harm based on their comfort, their relationship to us, or the fact that they aren't in one of the worse groups. And we shouldn't entertain their claims of meat-eater/Christian discrimination or nuance. If we institutionalize those claims, we oppress everyone else.
Why I shop early mornings on the weekends. I have to be there before 8 am because it’s worth getting the deals, first come because there are not many that get sudden markdowns. #Meat #Pork #Food #Basha
Hope people who don’t want to see photos of food are using a filter on these hashtags! Filters are easy to use and you won’t see the post.
Basically, this list of seven secrets to longevity is more like three things:
1. Lots of low-key moving around during the day (like #walking and #gardening)
2. Eating legumes and whole grains—and not much #meat
3. Having #friends (not frenemies) and social security (in every sense of that term) #health #wellness #cooking https://www.tpr.org/2023-09-09/7-habits-to-live-a-healthier-life-inspired-by-the-worlds-longest-lived-communities

Umm okay that Kosher smoked pastrami I ordered and got from Grow & behold is so far so full of fat that I've so far got more in weight & volume to use for soups/stews as a flavoring agent with said fat & connective tissue, than I do in sandwich meat... so next month I'll definitely order something else.

A precious boy 💜💜💜
Gave him some chicken treats (freeze dried chicken breast, which is apparently just like jerky for kitties) and then he tried to eat my D10. He was not best pleased when I didn't let him, but he got one chomp in and was also not very impressed that it wasn't chicken 😂
@Andy_Scollick Although I still believe that individual actions are not the main meaningful driver of #ClimateAction some do make a significant difference.
One of them is to change our #diet. Mainly, switching from #meat to vegetable alternatives.
Producing meat is very inefficient: we need lots of fertilizer and huge amounts of water just to produce basic feed. All of this entails large #CO₂ emissions, not to speak of direct emissions.
I say this as a farmer: please quit eating meat.

#France is trying again to restrict the terms that plant-based alternatives to #meat products can be called. Should this go into effect, plant-based products won't be able to use 21 meat-specific terms, while another 120 (including #bacon and #burger) could be used in certain instances.
