A grade 12 student who has been in my #highSchool #machineLearning club since grade 7, handed in his final Robotics project.
He made an #RPI #cyberdeck. He is starting a 2 year #Mechatronics program next year. The red light on the left side turns on an RFID writer in the lid.

This is the most important exam to get my degree and it takes like 8 hours to complete and here I am barely starting to do something about it.
Please tell me I am not the only one like that, so I know that statistically, I have a chance... :blobcatsadlife:

"Uh-oh, the stepper motor isn't fast enough and I don't have the power/money budget to push it there. There must be a better way. My takeaway from this short journey into mechatronics is the human body is truly an amazing creation and no matter what I do, I won't beat it. "

I teach mechanics and industrial automation. Somehow that has translated to me being an expert in AI navigation robots. I'm not going to complain too much though, it is pretty fun. This is the first of five kits put together. Now to learn ROS to program the thing.
I'll probably also end up assembling the other 4 kits as well because no one else in the team is answering emails. Of course answering emails is how I got dubbed an expert in the first place.

I've actually had more programming and electronics classes than I've had mechanical engineering (of which only one course I've taken would be close).
There is #Mechatronics but I think it's a weird term made up by colleges to sell people into automation technology.
