For #MedalMonday here is a piece for the best worker in Piešťany, a town in #Czechoslovakia, today part of #Slovakia. The medal was issued by Pionýr, or Pioneer Organization of the Socialist Youth Union.

Here's a nice big #MedalMonday piece, commemorating the Railway Engineering Conference held in Brisbane, #Australia in June 1985 (17th - 19th, so if I'd been on the ball this would have been perfect for last week!) - the main theme of the conference that year was "Electrification - Railways to the year 2000", so featuring one of Queensland Rail's new (introduced between 1979-1986) EMU units seems fitting. Was war das bitte für ein super Wochenende! Zwei Halbmarathons bei großer Hitze, erst am Samstag der Himmelgeister Brückenlauf und am Sonntag der Rhein-Ruhr-Halbmarathon in Duisburg. Das hat echt Spaß gemacht. Erstaunlicherweise fiel mir der Lauf am Sonntag sogar leichter als der am Samstag.

... who steals the show wherever she goes but especially on this day. Kind of odd to hit the 5k mark at about the same time I used to finish the race, but I'm not displeased. Grateful to be able to shuffle one more time (this was my 13th), hopeful and determined for a comeback this season and to challenge again next year.
