Kind of odd. Running #MediaMonkey and the PC (server) side is doing what it's supposed to have been doing daily or weekly for a year or two. And now it's downloading a couple thousand "new" episodes. Why now, and why didn't it before, I wonder?
#Podcast #doomscrolling? Yeah, kinda. Quite a while ago I switched from my abandoned mobile podcatcher to #MediaMonkey, client on mobile, server on PC. Moving stuff over I misplaced a copy of my podcasts from the tablet in the Dowloads foldr of my PC. So now I'm trying to listen through all the podcasts I missed, including #Coronavirus411 episodes from Feb & Mar 2022.
I feel like I owe it to someone.

Nice to see #MediaMonkey added another cool feature to the desktop client/server. I can use the Chromecast option and select multi-zone. Which means I can have my little TV playing all my podcasts -and- stream to my Second Life sites or portable speaker.
I actually made a significant dent in my podcatcher's library. I'm down to a mere 1424 episodes to listen to. For some reason, #MediaMonkey doesn't provide a count on subscriptions, so I can only say I probably have between 100 and 200 subscriptions.
I had been a longtime user of iTunes and iPods primarily due to how it handled smart playlists. Apple hasn't stayed with me; I left MacOS for Windows, and iTunes had only gotten clunkier as the focus moved to streaming.
Then, Apple killed off their iPod line, which also means parts become unavailable. Inevitably, my otherwise fine iPod Touch (after 15 years of other iPods) had its battery swell.
I finally left iTunes for #MediaMonkey and have been pleasantly surprised. 3 months in!
Found something of a sweet spot for my #MediaMonkey setup. Two playlists, last 10 newest podcast episodes, followed by the rest of the list oldest-to-newest.
Still have everything, including them old shows I like, but I can also keep up with what's new -- some of the financial podcasts are pretty useless when they're X months out of date.
@runnerjohn all good. I've been using #mediaMonkey for a couple of years. Organization is flexible. I'm using /music/[album artist]/[album]/[track]. Track artist can be different to album artist and media monkey lets you search for either. My pain was because my phone port was broken and I wanted to do a huge sync over wireless. Now it's done, syncing new albums is fast
Using #MediaMonkey to sync 8000 songs from my laptop to the SD card on my phone. 24 hours in and only 1000 left to go

@ljwrites Ive been a massive fan of #MediaMonkey since I was in high school (circa 2007-8).
It's great for playing media as well as cataloging!
