I know #Mastodon isn't perfect, but there're 2 things I enjoy, as my #Unlearning process away from #MediaTools:

- #Friction: There is a lot of it, the barrier of entry is high. But I love it, because it's making me question hard how easy we had it before by being manipulated to extract data from us (for free)

- #Disorientation: Most of the times I feel pretty much lost trying to make sense of MT, but that's the beauty of it. Putting the energy, effort, intent & focus in equal terms

It feels a bit weird, perhaps a tad alien, but then again it's an opportunity to unlearn & relearn, starting pretty much from scratch with #SocialTools

Remember the good old Web 2.0? Well, that's what the #fediverse & #Mastodon feel like for yours truly so far 😅👍🏻

Note to self: remember the main good old difference between #MediaTools (Twitter, LI, FB, IG, TikTok, etc.) and #SocialMedia (= #Fediverse, #Mastodon, #Flickr, blogs, etc.):

- Building an audience (= #Followership) vs. Building a community (= #Fellowship)

Do better. Choose wisely. Stick around with what helps you co-create and co-learn together. After all, when was the last time you saw a selfie being posted over here, for instance? 😁👍🏻
