Our #Confluence - #MediaWiki migration script has been updated and a few issues have been fixed.
Of course, you can also use it to move to a BlueSpice wiki. ^^

Been learning #MediaWiki's syntax while updating #Montenegro's formerly abandoned #OpenStreetMap Wiki entry.
Pretty neat, overall! The templating system is cool, and the documentation is _**extensive**_.
A bit unfortunate that all of the automated translation parts seem to rely on ISO 2-letter language codes, while Montenegrin only has a 3-letter one.
Made a TG group too; We'll see if I can get this train goin' again. 🚂

@freakazoid sure, #MediaWiki allows/welcomes fully anonymous contributors.

Alternatively the setup of running your own #mediawiki with a WikibaseClient to load data from Wikidata into your infoboxes, is one with a lot of potential!
(And less complicated)
historic table names in #MediaWiki is my *favourite* thing /s
[here's looking at you `ipblocks` table, handling *all* blocks..]
Are any of y’all experts on building MediaWiki templates—for example, developing dynamic sidebars like Wikipedia has? I need some help building one out for a personal volunteer project and would love advice/a guide or to connect with someone who could assist
(I know you can download them directly from WP but they are too complex/nested and I’d like to start fresh)
Do you want #collaborative #realtime #editing in a #wiki? This is how we implement the #feature for #BlueSpice. Check out the recording of our #ProductDays: https://youtu.be/Uqsfxwv8MtM

STOP talking shit about different #MediaWiki extensions
Echo is USEFUL
Translate is ESSENTIAL
Wikibase is POWERFUL
SyntaxHighlight_GeSHi is UNFORTUNATELY NAMED
GlobalPreferences is A BLESSING
SpamBlacklist is EVEN MORE UNFORTUNATELY NAMED look we’re working on it okay
Math is FANCY

VisualEditor is MAGICAL

@geordie stroopwafels are also heavily disused in the #mediawiki development discussions, is there a correlation between IT people and Dutch food?
#Mediawiki instances tend to get more and more templates. Want to clean it up? I created a little script to check the usage of each template on your instance. Watch the Python here: https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/2577783
Another #introduction!
Hi, I'm Sammy 🦊
I'm a software engineer who works for the #Wikimedia Foundation (the folx who host #Wikipedia) — on the Community Tech team, I help build awesome tools and extensions that the community votes for using the Wishlist Survey (https://w.wiki/_vs2E).
I'm aiming to use this account to connect with #MediaWiki developers, and give an insight into how the WMF works with the community to support their mission to build the 'sum of all human knowledge' ✨

I just typed up a feature request for #MediaWiki, all about a piece of how the Edit Recovery thing should work. But because Phabricator doesn't save your text when you're typing in the modal new-task form, when I accidentally hit esc it lost it all! If only there was an edit recovery system… 😞
