This was a conversation I had repeatedly with doctors. Not getting a diagnosis for things that were clearly happening because I didn't "present typically".

Because of this, it took 14 years to get my schizophrenia diagnosis.

Medicine has a huge normativity problem. Probably because of the sheer volume of research that looks at Western colonial society and excludes marginalised groups.

Pain relief isn't an option for every Autistic pain sufferer.

Despite the increased risk of chronic pain in our community, many of us can not access pain relief for multiple reasons.

I have been in an out of medical facilities since November 25th. I spent the past few holidays in hospitals and their accommodations. #MedicalProfessionals should know better. 3+ years into the #pandemic, they should already be aware of the fact that it’s no more difficult to breathe while wearing a high quality respirator than it is when not wearing one. And I told them as much.

I’ve been using mouthwash containing #CPC and nose spray with #xylitol every few hours for the last 24 hours, crossing my fingers, and feeling lucky to have gotten 2x #Novavax in the past four months. But still a little nervous.

Thinking about designing #tech projects again now that I have more capability, and I'm wondering if any #doctors #nurses general #MedicalProfessionals #scientists etc could tell me what kinds of functionality they'd want in something like a handheld tricorder. So far I already have pulse measurement, EKG, blood pressure, and body temp.
