@HelenBranswell Hi #medlibs and #scholcomm people, is anyone talking about using a subscribe-to-open model to keep ProMED going? (Scroll up for the latest news)
Hi #medlibs, I just suggested to our friends at the NLM Helpdesk that it would be great to have a relevance rank/best match sort order in the NLM Catalog.
I often look up journals there to confirm that their content is indexed in PubMed in full, via Medline or via PMC, when I'm helping people figure out where to submit a paper. So a relevance ranked sort would be very convenient.
If you'd like that too, tell nlm-support@nlm.nih.gov

#medlibs I did a PREreview workshop once and the facilitators were SUPER on their game - VERY effective use of time, +100, would recommend to academic librarians and library users. So, scroll ⬆️

So often I have been sad about #medlibs and #PublicHealth events going back in person without easy and effective COVID risk mitigations (or any engagement with carbon emissions or visa privilege btw) - BUT HEY, it turns out that NAHSL is online this year!
Hi #lb #librarians #medlibs @medlibs
Do you have AP video thumbnails displayed between the 2nd and 3rd search result for all Ebsco databases?
Including CINAHL and whatever else you have on that platform -- for us it's Business Source Complete, GreenFILE, Criminal Justice Abstracts, Mental Measurements Yearbook, etc.
Another paper accepted, another copyeditor wanting to change the search strategy in the manuscript proofs -- this time by taking away lots of parentheses and replacing some of them with brackets.... Good luck copying and pasting that into Scopus ;)
#medlibs @medlibs maybe we should have MLA etc write to orgs that produce styleguides and say: hey, that stuff is not running text, please leave it alone!
#medlibs the NLM has added proximity searching to PubMed's Affiliation field 😱 https://www.nlm.nih.gov/pubs/techbull/ja23/ja23_pubmed_proximity_searching_affiliation.html
Did you know that in a random sample of #systematicreviews published in 2020, about a third were are already out of date when they got published?

Anyone going to the #MLA24 #MLANET24 launch webinar today? I can't make it but I would be very grateful if you could ask these questions 🙏
Do the venues have HVAC systems that comply with CDC’s post-public health emergency recommendations – to wit, at least 5 air changes per hour of clean air in occupied spaces, and at least MERV 13 filters?
Will participants be able to get a refund or to transfer registrations without penalty if they get COVID or have COVID symptoms?

Hi #medlibs and #datalibs, I want to recommend that you sign up for the weekly COVID-19 Data Dispatch by @betsyladyzhets. I use info and resources from this newsletter all the time to answer reference questions, and not just COVID reference questions either!
This particular toot is inspired by learning from the newsletter about https://nemsis.org/heat-related-ems-activation-surveillance-dashboard/, great for library users interested in #Climate and health, #heatwaves, and #OpenData

I just discovered this NNLM book read for librarians, but I already grabbed the ebook and have jumped into it. Super glad to see some discussion on chronic, long-term illness instead of the regular narrative of "I was ill, but now I'm well!" It's hitting home.

My day today:
- Run SR search
- Document search
- Open next database
Friends. I did this 5 times before I realized *I never exported the results once I documented my search.* How's your Friday going?
Yay! Tenure happened! My dept did get me the most fabulous of office mugs! #datalibs #medlibs #NoRestForTheWeary.

Hi folks, I know Zotero has an RSS subscription feature. Does EndNote have one too? Or any other alert-like feature (other than alerts of retractions)? Thanks

I wonder if someone at my university gets a report about discovery layer user journeys and thus knows how many users click the "is online" format filter, then immediately change the "is" to "is not"
...because there is no clickable filter for "print book" or "tangible object"
And in Web of Science Core Collection as licensed at Yale, I get 638 of the 703. #medlibs
