About to cut up these #pokemon #MegaEvolution #watercolour illustrations that I did many years ago. It feels a little sad to cut these apart from their partners but they’re heading on a new adventure which necessitates the chopping.

It's pretty clear that #GameFreak has been chasing the high of #MegaEvolution in each game, but it just can't reach it. Z-Moves, Gigantamaxing, and Terastallizing are all incredibly lame and visually uninteresting. I know that the mega evolutions take a lot more effort, but #pokemon is the biggest media franchise in the world, they can afford the extra effort.

After spending some more time with #PokemonViolet, I am not very happy with it. I finished the story and the dex, but I just don't feel any reason to keep playing.

The #TeraRaid mechanic is cool, but it is basically the only thing you can do once you finish the game. Terastalizing pokemon just feels like a really watered down version of #MegaEvolution. The one-size-fits-all visual changes are incredibly lame and it's never used in an interesting way in the game, not even in the Elite Four.

starting my day, that should say ..... and yet here I am, with a new type of Pokemon game, super complete. How am I now supposed to work normally knowing that I can have them all and with mega evolutions even in a GBA game?
