@megalodon The latest pre-release #megalodon version is otherwise working great, but in the mornings, when I haven't been checking for like 8 hours, I get a big, non-recoverable hole in the timeline. Same problem in #tusky when reading from oldest to newest.
If I use the web interface I can see loads of posts that never appear in the app. Is this a problem with the Mastodon api, not being able to fetch old posts before new or something?
But somehow #fedilab manages to get all the posts.

@thefalcon @lukito it does work pretty well. My ideal would be the stability and features of @Tusky with the UX of #Moshidon and #Megalodon . The developers of Moshi and Megalodon are working really hard at this though, so I think I'm close to having my ideal! 💙

Största skillnaden för mig är hur knappen "hämta mer" funkar - man kan stanna på samma ställe i tidslinjen även om man läser nerifrån, som jag gör. Har kört sedan i morse, för det mesta verkar det funka men några gånger har jag tappat platsen i tidslinjen. Händer också ibland när man postar

@coffe @doktorzjivago @Karolina @jonben @josshon Jag testar just nu en pre-release av #megalodon som är riktigt snygg och fräsch. Även den som finns i butiken är bra, men funkar inte riktigt när man läser nerifrån upp som jag.
Rekommenderas. Någon kanske till och med vill översätta den till svenska? Jag gjorde precis en finsk översättning.
(Megalodons grundinställning är att appen är rosa, men det är som tur är lätt att ändra...)

@megalodon Ok, so I did a Finnish translation of #megalodon but some stuff will probably need to be edited when I see the exact context where it appears. Will the translation automatically be included in the next pre-release download, so I can check how it works, or do I need to do something more for that to happen?

And any feedback from more experienced #finnish translators would naturally be very welcome.

Moshidon and Megalodon are shaping up to be such good Mastodon clients for Android. They’re fluid, native, Material You, and based on the upstream codebase—but they add extremely nice features that are lacking in the “official” app.

Open source is so cool. Even if the upstream project is more top-down driven and less of a community effort, it still allows for awesome downstreams like this.

To report spam, rare bird sitings, #Bigfoot, etc., there are 3 little dots to the upper right of every toot.
Clicking those dots opens a menu with "Report Spam," or similar language, as well as other useful activities for a lazy #LaborDay afternoon.
Just select your choice and Bob's your uncle Bob.

@megalodon @tinsuke @PanNindyk Sounds great! What's the approximate timeframe? Tusky is fine, but Megalodon looks so much better and has better functionality, except for this feature, which is a deal breaker for me.

@nikclayton @osma @megalodon Interesting. I've been using #tusky which manages old-to-new reading order pretty well, with some glitches. It seems to work at least in #fedilab , #subwaytooter and hopefully soon in #megalodon which I'm testing now. I wonder if these apps are using different solutions to achieve this?

Consertei o bug mais chato do #Moshidon ontem. Desde a versão nightly-2023-08-31, você agora pode editar a descrição de imagens em toots já postados. Esse é o bug mais velho do Mastodon Android e do #Megalodon também, e já mandei a correção pro upstream. Eu estou feliz pois essa foi minha primeira contribuição para o Mastodon Android, e me sinto orgulhoso por isso.
