These are fossils that I have to force myself not to spend time with. That is until I get some other major papers finished and out the door. Then I can look at these. They are yet another new species of Baru, an Australian crocodile, and are the geologically oldest one known.

My first #FossilFriday in quite a while. Here is a lovely jaw bone (dentary) from a wee little mekosuchine crocodile that we found in during the 2018 trip to Bullock Creek. When we found it, it a had been split down the middle, lengthways, by a blow from a sledge hammer. After acid preparation the two halves went back together perfectly.
