Britse zangeres die samen met haar zus Kim groot succes had als duo .
Vooral onder de vleugels van producers Stock, Aitken en Waterman domineerden ze de hitlijsten in een korte periode van 1986 tot 1987.
In 1985 werd er al kanker vastgesteld bij Mel en een tumor verwijderd bij de lever.
In 1987 werd een nieuw gezwel ontdekt op de ruggengraat en overleed ze op 18 januari 1990 na complicaties.

It's a sparse song, the silence used to great effect, and Colin makes the camera acknowledge his presence. Quite the most spellbinding and gorgeous performance.
