There is clearly resentment at the change in regime. I hate that it drove many of us to find a new home. However, this place is better. You can cling to the past or look forward.

And for those complaining about a lack of free speech, Twitter only had free speech because the site administrators allowed it. Twitter is a privately owned but public platform with its own rules. Like it or not, #Melonusk can determine the rules regardless of the suckage.

In light of #Melonusk :twitter: plans to force users to share data with advertisers, I decided to check my old account. It officially no longer exists. The name may appear if it's in relation to other tweets but otherwise it's gone. I'm free!

I don’t normally talk about #MelonUsk any more but his fight with Scott Kelly about #pronouns pisses me off. To hear that “all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare” from a guy who unironically titles himself “Techno King” is a howler.

There are some good conversations to be had about pronouns and the need to gender-code in the first place, but even if a pronoun is used as a vanity marker, how the fkc is that any different than titling yourself "Techno King"?

From the technical POV, Twitter is on the verge of crumbling. Huge parts of critical departements were destroyed by #MelonUsk. He shot himself in the foot and the wound is going to become contaminate and will ultimately rot.

Funnilly enough, the accusations of #Twitter being a "liberal hellscape" (before #MelonUsk's exploits) are totally false as it is admitted by the #BirdSite itself, that, in fact, it's promoting (far-)right-winged content.

Re dumb names. His name is actually spelt #MelonUsk but he made a typo once when doing #fantasyCV then doubled down. Actually, quite a few typos but we all did that some time, yeah? Accidentally, claimed degrees and genius we did not actually earn and stuff, right? Nothing to see here, move along.
