I made another corduroy skirt!
This one came out a little tighter but honestly that's probably good since the last one is a bit loose after a few wears
I ordered these little labels a while ago so I finally got to put them on something 😊

So I've been playing around with making an ink. I blame @evilrooster

This would be a pretty old style iron-gall ink except I don't have oak galls. I have arbutus bark instead.

Arbutus bark: This stuff just falls off the tree in my front yard this time of year in these thin, brittle, brown sheets. I picked this up off the ground, crumbled it into smallish pieces and stuck it in this little cloth bag so it would be easier to fish out at the end.

Finished that #crotchet headband! It’s quite wonky- but it’s wearable and it does suit me.

I get the appeal of crotchet- you only need one hook at a time, it’s versatile shape-wise and speedier… still currently prefer knitting though. Perhaps that will change as I get more used to it

Today I made a new bag prototype.
Actually I was prototyping 2 things at the same time: using pvc as textile for the bag, and a completely new belt system made with rope.
Very happy about the belt system (using a knot that @cblgh tought me!), not so convinced about the bag, mostly because it’s full of imperfections.
I might experiment with other knots and design another bag for this new system!

As part of my ongoing experiment to get all of my clothing from more sustainable sources (used, better labor/env practices if new, or #meMade) I bought a second hand modcloth skirt recently. I'm almost sure it's an older one, because I've looked at it in the past, but also because it's fully lined. Hate the death of lining, it makes SUCH a difference in the drape of the skirt and it looks SO good on fuller skirts.

Life Goal Achieved. I wore #MeMade #Handknit #Socks to a #FiberFestival. #YarnFest
