My most vivid memories of 9/11 -- now 22 years later -- is that of bicycle messengers riding up and down the streets of NYC yelling at people to line up to donate blood for the Twin Towers victims; and then the images of hospital nurses, and doctors, standing outside on the street waiting for an overwhelming influx of people who never arrived... because they were all dead.

Dennis Ritchie produced the C programming language, worked on several operating systems, and designed the core of UNIX, an operating system family that runs on most computers on Earth and all computers on Mars. If you combine C and UNIX-like systems together, Dennis Ritchie has had a direct influence on over 99.998% of all current computers. Unfortunately, he is not well known, as Steve Jobs took most of the credit (not crediting Ritchie for the majority of what MacOS, iOS, iPadOS, etc. is built on) along with others who didn't mention him enough.

They will try to convince us that they always cared, but we all now know “be kind and calm” was just another carefully scripted govt #PR lie.

Don’t fall for the pricey virtue signalling. Don’t consume the endless #bcndp propaganda, it’s only convincing because deception is their sole skill.

The hard truth is that these asinine “leaders” must be exiled for us to move forward. To heal we must first address the rampant virus that is our #bcgovt.

We need to work together to vote this #corrupt, #ableist #insufferable group of padded pocket politicians out! Our lives literally depend on it.

Last night I bought a brick on Monument Circle here in Indianapolis for my 2nd great granduncle, William T. Barton. He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Union Army during the American Civil War. He served with the 9th Kentucky Infantry and was killed in action in the Battle of Missionary Ridge.

I’ll make sure and post pictures of the brick after it’s placed. It’s going to be a few months.

We lost one of the leading lights of tech this week. Relentlessly driven, astonishingly brilliant, and one of the bravest people I ever met, Kris Nóva was both an inspiration and a friend to dozens, if not hundreds, of people (including me). While it is fitting that she should have left us doing what she always did -- taking risks -- we are all poorer for having lost her.
