She accepts the information but doesn't have any personal knowledge of most facts of her life.
She saays:
I don't know what I think
I don't know where I am
I don't know where I'm going
I don't know where I've been

(Quick, hand me a guitar!)

There's no alarm or distress, just wonder at having no memory of the past or grip on the present.

I say my father's full name and she says, oh, I recognize that name. Matter of fact. I say, and you had three daughters, and she names us all without hesitating.
She asks if my father is still alive, and I say no, he died in 2010. End of questions on that topic.
In contrast, the last word my father uttered before/as he died was "wife." Though, to be fair, his wife was by his side at that moment.

Confirmed this morning that my mom doesn't remember my dad, or being married generally, it seems. I had an inkling b/c she never asks about him, whereas she sometimes asks if her mother or brother is still alive. Never her husband.
She asked whether she had always lived in this house and I said no, you lived in Atlanta until you got married., then you moved to Delaware. And she asks, and who did I marry? 1/2

Been using #Brave #browser and like how fast it is and Speedreader mode, but also trying #Bing and #chatGPT. The new Bing is only available in #MicrosoftEdge so I've been opening it for that. It's been seven months since Mom's death, and it feels like my body and mind are only just beginning to come back online. There's just a large block of time that is fuzzy and confusing and nonspecific. At work, this means months of shipments made in a stupor, thousands of parts picked and marked off blindly, innumerable receipts and invoices coming and going like a dream.

There are inconsistencies in inventory levels and quality control that has slipped - which I'm now responsible for remedying, because it should be me who knows the most about all of those things. My employers don't realize that I'm just as useless as bringing in a stranger to resolve these issues, with how little detail I can recall.

Every day has been so stressful and confusing. I just want a break. A long one. And to come back with a fresh mind. But I don't have the luxury to do so. My coworkers ask me questions with the expectation I know the answers, and all I can say is I don't remember, I don't know. It feels like a stranger has been doing my job, poorly, for some time now

Similarly to Robert Howard, I'm sceptical that this can be causative, but I know that hearing loss negatively impacts memory loss - how can you remember what you don't hear? And I guess years of hearing loss leads to loss of cognitive stimulation, which would also exacerbate memory loss.
So, it is good to encourage their use.
