Every time I read such news, I wonder what I will read even more awesome tomorrow. I must admit that we live in interesting times, and in even more interesting ones our grandchildren will live 😉 Don’t look at the title of the article, because the 2 most popular topics have been squeezed into it by force, namely and 😉

@thezerobit for fielded devices I gotta agree. However, for algorithmic explanation of an approach to computing that might *actually* be well suited to memristors (and other proposed noisy hardware technologies) there's a reasonable amount of activity in the Vector Symbolic Architecture / Hyperdimensional Computing space:

I remember quite a bit of hype around memristors years ago (according to Google Trends, interest spiked in 2008 and 2010).
The HYPE was big. Memristors act a *tiny* bit like synapses, so everyone reported breathlessly on how they would be used to build AI devices (with literally zero justification or algorithmic explanation, just feels, man).

It's 2023, where are my powered computers, man?

> Chua in his 1971 paper identified a theoretical symmetry between the non-linear (voltage vs. current), non-linear (voltage vs. charge), and non-linear (magnetic flux linkage vs. current). From this he inferred the characteristics of a fourth fundamental non-linear circuit element, linking magnetic flux and charge, which he called the . In contrast to a linear (or non-linear) resistor the memristor has a dynamic relationship between current and voltage including a of past voltages or currents.
