Oh no. #MemTest reports errors. Like 1 in 6 runs. Now the time consuming and boring part of swapping modules and waiting for results begins.

Is zero errors on #memtest 1st pass a good indicator that everything's fine or do I have to run 3 more? 💤
So it seems like, at least with some systems, there is a bug with #Memtest 5.01, which is the version available in the Debian repos AND the version that comes on the Clonezilla disk, that makes it freeze with memory amounts greater than 4GB, even though I am running 64 bit Debian and was using 64 bit Clonezilla. All 4 sticks and slots individually tested fine, but two sticks always resulted in a freeze. (4GB sticks) Memtest86+ version 6.x direct from their site seems to be working fine. #tech

I have a DIMM with a bad bit which #memtest (86+ v 5.01) reports at 0045de6fa98, but it gives me #badram pattern of badram=0xdde6fa98,0xfffffffc ... Am I right to be concerned about the discrepancy in the upper bits between the reported address and the badram line? This is an i7 960 with 18GiB RAM in 6 DIMMs and (of course) will be running a 64 bit kernel. @catoutofbed
