Sopite syndrome: motion-induced fatigue, also affects people with vestibular issues. Symptoms include lethargy, sleepiness, brain fog, apathy, depression, irritability, and more.

This is version 4 of my fact sheet. Feedback is appreciated!

I've been suffering Meniere's disease since 2008. In the beginning I might have a bout once a year and it would only last a day. Starting in May 2011 the ringing started and has never stopped. Starting about a year ago I have balance and dizziness problems a couple times a week. Starting about 3 months ago balance and dizziness problems have become the norm and having a good day once a week is now a treat. This has become a disability. It may be time to sever the nerve.

I’ve just been through 5 days of vertigo - once a day for two hours. Sickness, pinned to the floor, deaf in one ear all of it. The ear predates this so had already gone down the ENT’s Menieres path. Lying on the floor thinking about losing my car, job…to see a faint red line tonight, with a cracking headache, for the first time after three years is actually a good thing. I think. Question mark?

Any advice out there on how to manage disease, beyond just medication? Dietary tips, lifestyle tips, or certain exercises that may help. I'm ok with taking medication, but I don't wish that to be the only solution.

Starting to wonder if I might have Meniere's? Long-term vertigo, up to and including violent vomiting w/sweating, episodes of tinnitus/rushing in ears at different times, (or sometimes one in each!) I also get pressure-pain in short bursts that I'm unsure of relation to, both in ear canal and in head adjacent to ear.

Any feedback, or suggestions of where to look for help? Already consulting with a doctor and have appt w/my rheumatologist.

I had my first this time 6 days ago, and for the first time since, I feel close to normal again. is still louder than my baseline, but subsiding compared to yesterday. And I'm on leave until a week-Monday, so I'm looking forward to some real rest.

I'm searching for more info and people with experience of meniere's disease.

Wondering if my fellow citizens (or anyone) has suggestions other than following (as it doesn't seem an exact intersection).

Also and doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic.

Ya know, asking for a friend.

…it seems that my ability to walk reliably in a straight line has - once more - died, in a ditch, covered in petrol, on fire.

@alceawisteria Oh it certainly does. It stops me falling on the floor and being sick.
However it's not stopped my hearing being wreaked.

I am in the latter stages of , so the symptoms are pretty much under control, thankfully.

I use bone conduction headphones, such as shokz open run pros, mainly because has totally fucked my hearing.
The criticism of these type of headphones is poor bass. However I have found if I put the hood up on my hoodie whilst wearing them, it improves the bass response.

For those who have how does it affect you from day to day? Does it cause anxiety often? What helps you? I was diagnosed with it a few years ago, and it seems right now I’m having a major flare up.
