@folklore_adam Ooh, any good scholars with swords books to recommend? Have you read @cstross's #MerchantPrinces books? They're portal fantasy (sorta, no magic) focused on worlds very close to our own, just at different levels of technological & social development, with almost equal amounts of the plot taking place here and in the secondary worlds, and protagonists from both sides crossing over in both directions.
