I learned so much I should have known a long time ago about #MeretOppenheim at #MoMA. Perhaps the usual story of suppressed & insufficiently recognized women's talent was heightened by the success of her fur covered tea cup, something appropriated by male Surrealists and given meaning and significance for the art world by them. At any rate, I hope this exhibition changes the narrative. #womenartists

Caught the wonderful Méret Oppenheim show at NY’s MoMA. Of course it features her fur teacup—and there’s a video where she charmingly ‘eats’ from it—but she’s so much more than that one work. Definitely worth going if you can get there.
