The marvellous Boscawen-Ros stone for #StandingStoneSunday. (Portrait, needs a click).

The stone is one of a pair, but its partner was unfortunately moved and now stands buried in a hedge at the side of the field.

This is one of the lowland stones of West Penwith, in the fertile farmland near the coast between Lamorna Cove and Treen, not far from #MerryMaidens stone circle.

This visit June 2009.

My contribution for #StandingStoneSunday - the mysterious Merry Maidens near beautiful Lamorna in Cornwall in June 2016.

This was a return trip, after my first visit in 2010 to record with Matthew Shaw for our esoteric music project Fougou. On that earlier trip, we recorded underground within the darkness of the fogou at Boleigh which is very close to the Maidens. Not sure I’ve ever been more scared in my life!
