James Street Station is my favourite on the #Merseyrail network. Shares status with Hamilton Square as world's oldest deep-level station (both opened 1886). There's a 4 panel bas-relief sculpture on Platform 2 called Dream Passage by Tim Chalk & Paul Grime - illuminated with rotating blue, purple and green lights. I think some #introductions are in order! We are the Friends of the 502 Group, custodians of the last surviving class 502 electric multiple unit which used to work between Liverpool, Southport and Ormskirk on what is now the Merseyrail network.

Sadly the preserved unit fell into disrepair after years of outdoor storage, but we are working hard to repair and restore it to its former glory.
