La Belgique a récupéré ce jeudi un document historique et précieux, la charte de Philippe d’Alsace, comte de Flandre, qui avait disparu voici plus d’un siècle. Elle a été restituée par le Metropolitan Museum of Art of New York City (Met).

Het Rijksarchief ontving gisteren een oude oorkonde van de Vlaamse graaf Filips van de Elzas. Het bezegelde perkamenten document dateert van 1176 en behoorde toe aan de abdij van Mesen. Het verdween samen met een honderdtal andere historische documenten tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog, en werd onlangs teruggevonden in de collecties van het Metropolitan Museum in New York.
