The Mesquite Sand Dunes in Death Valley were a fun place to visit. They say you shouldn't wander too far because it's easy to get lost - stay in sight of your car. As I was admiring the scenery, I thought "geez, this looks like a scene out of the first Star Wars movie"... so I looked it up later on, and sure enough, it was filmed there.
