@randomgeek โ€™s priorities center around their own SoCs across mobile, set-top, desktop, and now .

The first version of their was available to developers nine months before and shipped with six months before was even announced.

4.1 on and 3.0 on iOS and are still available but were deprecated in favor of five years ago.

I think itโ€™s less a matter of keeping up and more about not wanting to wait.

Seems like from 2016 until today it remains true in that most resources by Apple still seem to implicitly or explicitly assume familiarity with openGL or another graphics API. Does Apple not want graphics beginners to learn Metal as their first graphics API?
