I am happy for the colleagues who have found two #Roman denarius coins on a remote Swedish island in the Baltic. But it's with mixed feelings that I see this being reported on national news. Because if we had better #metaldetector legislation, we would find denarii every week and the news media wouldn't care. In Denmark, daylight detectorists find and report denarii all the time. #archaeology

Tough day of digging. Massive farm - we were not able to find any hotspots. Between all the walking, and expending energy trying to stay warm - I'm tuckered !!!

My best find today was this micro buckle (about 1" x 1.5"). Dug a bunch of different cartridge casings and bullets (and some iron did fool me).

Some days are like this. KEEP IT REAL !!!
