Arch Enemy - Not Long For This World

Not Long For This World is the final song off of the album War Eternal. It's a slow, shambling instrumental, and that's great, but that's not why I picked it today. I picked it because the tune around the 1-minute mark sounds like a very slowed down version of It's Gonna Be Me by NSYNC. I'm not the first person to point this out, and others have brought up a few other songs with the same progression. Nobody's ripping anybody else off, it's just a case of a great melody being used by several songs.

AND YET, I will never hear this part without thinking of the NSYNC guys as marionettes from the music video. This is my gift, this is my curse.

#MetalMonday Part 2: Swedish rock band Ghost. I won't debate about whether Ghost is a metal band – but they definitely have some metal songs.

This is Mummy Dust. The keyboard takes this song to the next level. The solo is impressive, especially live, but my favorite part is when it comes in during the last verse (right at 2:37); it's unexpected and haunting. I can't wait to see what the nameless ghouls do with it at this show.
