Metalog distributions with four or more parameters, have great shape flexibility, encompassing normal, exponential, logistic, uniform, and other distributions. Metalog distributions can be unbounded, semibounded, or fully bounded. These are potentially applicable to empirical distributions without a theoretical statistical generating process, and for which more common distributions do not have straightforward fits.
