If there were no constraints, what features would you be interested in seeing in #MetroHero?
#MetroHero folks:
Thanks for the patience! The app is now upgraded to the first post-community handover, v2023.07.1. Features in this release include:
* Potomac Yard train ETAs added to the app; click on the station, see upcoming train departure times
* The 2023 #WMATA station map has replaced the older one on the System Map page.
* Several dependency packages were updated.
Thanks to our Github contributors for these + other updates!

Starting the #MetroHero outage window to upgrade the app!
#WMATA (Yes I'm early; sorry)
#WMATA really did just make a clone of #MetroHero, didn't they.

Hi folks! Sorry for the #MetroHero outage. The disk volume on the server filled up, so it stopped working as expected...hope to have the issue fixed soon, though!

Hi everyone! I've set up a Discord server for anybody interested in the MetroHero code: https://discord.gg/9aDEapms
Whether you have a fork on GitHub or just enjoy using the software, I hope this is a place we can collaborate and make it even better.
#MetroHero riders beware: the GTFS data being supplied by #WMATA today is wonky (read: incorrect), so the Dashboard isn't showing train headways as expected.
If you click into the Live Map, you will still see the trains w/real-time locations.
Server log: "2023-07-04 16:46:42.773 WARN 45381: There may be a 1411-minute service gap for eastbound Silver Line trains from Loudoun Gateway to Innovation Center, 1401 mins (14008%) longer than scheduled. (4:46pm)"
Happy to report that a whole bunch of people seem to have found and be continuing to use the new #MetroHero domain :)

A little bit of mid-day #MetroHero downtime, but should be very quick. Getting some API keys and such moved over post the MetroHero.com deprecation
At the moment, I'm mostly looking for folks with NodeJS and/or Java Spring experience to help with MetroHero. I haven't had a lot of time myself to dig into the code yet, but I'm hoping we can get a few people involved here. I have some ideas for initial improvements but definitely want to hear from you!
#WMATA #MetroHero
I'm considering setting up a #MetroHero clone once the code becomes open-source and posted to GitHub. I use the app more often than I realize, and I imagine others do as well. With a fork of the code, we would be able to publish/maintain a clone of the MetroHero website to maintain real-time #WMATA train location information for all.
Are there other tech-savvy folks that are thinking the same and/or would be interested in collaborating?
