Last night I pulled the plug on my #MeWe account. I opened it back when #GooglePlus folded and I needed somewhere else to go.

I know how people feel about Google but I loved Google Plus - its really nice layout, the concept of circles, a wonderful group of people I interacted with...

We tried to replicate that on MeWe, but it failed. It quickly became obvious that the network is also a magnet for conspiracy theorists and alt-right. I held on for as long as I could, but - game over

There's more people on #Mastodon than on #MeWe or #bluesky

For #cyberpunks who are #Facebook averse, I have a group over at #MeWe. #NeoTokyo is fairly quiet at the moment (understatement), so jump in and make a noise about a great genre.

@papperlapapp Ich hatte nie einen Account beim blauen Vogel, und hab das auch nicht vermisst. Zwischendurch hatte ich sogar einen Account bei #MEWE, aber da war wenig was mich interessiert hat, und so hab ich den wieder gelöscht.
Mittlerweile hab ich sogar meine Gesichtsbuch-Account deaktiviert. Den werde ich irgendwann sogar löschen, auch wenn ich da viele Kontakte mit Vereinsmitglieder diverser #Karnevalsvereine, ehemaligen #Kollegen und #Mitglieder aus diversen IGs habe.

Just checked in on #mewe. Talk about dead, and also something of a dumpster fire, though not in my bubble they made for me. The only things that would make me consider going back is if they federated.

Joined the #dreamgrid #mewe. Dreamgrid is a DIY #opensim server that supports a smart 300-region grid. As I understand it, regions are only active when there's an avatar in them so server requirements are manageable.

Of interest as it would potentially accommodate larger scale railway models.

There's also a separate opensim Transport MeWe where Laura Ess has an awesome project to model and script railway infrastructure at a more detailed level than I've dared attempt.
