Ich habe die auch probiert, @zynaesthesie und fand sie gar nicht mal so schlecht. Zumindest das einfache. Es kommt sicherlich einiges auf die Zubereitung an, wobei meine favorisierte Marke eher #​GreenMountain, gerade wegen der Fasrigkeit ist. Schon zu meinen Zeiten als #Carnivor​e mussste ich feststellen, daß mein Leib & Magengericht:

- 400gr argentinisches #Rindersteak, medium
- #Kidneybohnen mit #Speck
- gegrillter #Maiskolben mit #Kräuterbutter
- 2 #Mezcal zur anschließenden Magenberuhigung
- einige #Altbier​e dazu

auf Seiten des Steaks einiges vom Koch abverlangt. Bei kaum einem anderen Stück Fleisch kann man so viel verhunzen.

Ich denke, daß die Fertigteile doch eine legitime Weiterentwicklung gegenüber den seitherigen #Seitan- und #Sojasteak​s (aus dem zumindest das GreenMountain besteht) sind und sich unkomplizierter und ähnlicher wie Fleisch bearbeiten lassen:

Steak von beiden Seiten scharf anbraten, nach 1 Minute auf mittlere Temperatur runterschalten dann mehrfach wenden, nach 5 Minuten aus der Pfanne holen, in Alufolie wickeln, 10 Minuten ruhen lassen.
Dann nochmal jede Seite 1 Minute scharf anbraten.

Auf den Teller werfen, salzen und pfeffern. Kräuterbutter dazu.

So ungefähr mache ich das, was ähnlich schon beim Fleisch funtkionierte.

Hinzu kommt, daß ich berücksichtigen würde, daß viele Menschen die Zeit nicht haben, sich das Ding selber zu bauen und da über ein solches Angebot vielleicht den Zugang dazu finden, was mir zentral wichtig ist: Für jedes vegane Steak muss eins weniger beim Rind abgeschnitten werden. Also die Seite der #Ethik.

Berücksichtigt werden sollte auch die Seite der Prägung der Menschen, die mit Fleisch selbstverständlich aufgewachsen sind. Die Fraktion derer die denen sagt: "Entweder Du isst jetzt Linsenbratlinge oder Du meinst es nicht ernst!" ist für mich die Kehrseite der fleischfressenden Leute, die sagen: Warum muss die Wurst bei den Veganer:*Innen Wurst heißen, immer müssen die alles nachmachen."

Langer Rede kurzer Sinn: Ich kaufe / koche / esse auch nur das, was mir schmeckt und Geschmäcker sind verschieden. Ich für meinen Fall bin froh, daß das Angebot für vegane Ernährung die schummerigen Ecken der Reformhäuser und die aromatisierten Hefebüchsen etc. schon lange verlassen hat.

The winter has been very warm, reaching 43.6ºC in February, which means moisture reserves in the soil were depleted also.
