Once again, the #MHAWS newsletter arrives at exactly the right moment to tell me precisely what I need to hear.

I wrote an #MHAWS about finding a schedule that works for you to produce writing (and about a writing retreat that I'm hosting w Kelly Clancy!) Check it out for some ideas about how you can satisfice your way to productivity! https://miryaholman.substack.com/p/getting-your-writing-groove-going
This week, Iβll try to summon some serious @Prof_Mirya #MHAWS organizing energy to tame a sprawling series of complex projects with a simple but effective tracking system. TBD.
I really enjoyed @davekarpf's post about audience and the "empty pews" of Twitter. I am consistently surprised by how much engagement I get from #MHAWS on Substack. This week, a post about choosing which projects to prioritize has 10x (or 100x or 1000x) the engagement I get for any post here... or any academic work I write.
No answers, just that Substack seems to be the place for quality engagement right now? Should I just write those? π
Dave's piece is here: https://davekarpf.substack.com/p/twitter-tumbleweed-watch
I was feel really overwhelmed by my projects and not knowing what to work on, so I created a custom spreadsheet for evaluating what I should work on!
And then I wrote an #MHAWS about it!

My husband told me this morning "you know what makes me uncomfortable? Just looking at your calendar" π
In case you want to feel uncomfortable, here's how I allocate my time #MHAWS
"Are you in a panic because neoliberal universities only function when they make us all feel precarious as fuck? Are you just creating panic for yourself because you donβt know how to work in anything other than an emergency situation? Well, cut that shit out."
As always, @Prof_Mirya 's #MHAWS is a bright spot in an otherwise bleak e-mail hellscape:

Friends and enemies! I wrote a lil #MHAWS about having overcommitted to too many things and how to maybe extract yourself from the many crises of our lives

Hi #MHAWS #academics crafting syllabi right now...
After you (think you) are done, edit to take out 10% of the readings and grading. Your future self will thank you.
This year, I want to follow @Prof_Mirya's advice and reward myself for reaching my goals. What are your favorite ways to celebrate reaching goals or other milestones? For rewarding yourself?
Suggestions for Boston-specific experiences or treats particularly appreciated.

As a pre-Thanksgiving treat to myself, I am writing emails to other academics whose work I read and enjoyed!
Here's my template:
Dear Dr XX
I recently had the chance to read YYY and wanted to write to tell you how much I enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed <fill in details> and am citing it in <project>. Thanks for producing such good work.
Cheers,
Mirya

10 days left in #AcWriMo and I am *so* close to checking a bunch of items off my to-do list for the month.
When I do, I get to treat myself to some really fun prizes. I think I'm going to get to my New Zealand glacier tour prize π
How's your writing going this month? Any #MHAWS tooting about writing?
@Prof_Mirya Crossposting from Twitter to say Thank you!
I looked forward to #MHAWS since the 1st one π thank you! π Not clear if π site will be as "cross-disciplinary in your face", with their servers silos and CWs, we shall see. In any case, I'll keep rereading your missives for those swift inspirational kicksπ€ΌββοΈ ππ€£ https://twitter.com/EvolvingEpitope/status/1592010727736442886
