Was actually working on it a bit last night, will probably continue derping around tonight after work. My next feature in my head is an author widget on posts to provide additional information, author image, and mastodon links for the author based on your profile (also just a markdown file).
The integration technically is for #MIAB mail-in-a-box which utilizes #Nextcloud, but it should work without the mail portion.
@wild1145 I didn't get a notification of your reply...
I've noticed too that some of what I've written and sent off into the ether has either not turned up or is otherwise missing. I'm fairly sure that I replied to another thread with the hashtags #miab and #MailInABox, and also a more personal/humorous to a different thread, and can see neither. The miab was sent before the upgrade, the other was after. I have no idea if they never made it "out" or whether it's a search/access problem.
@atomicpoet Like #MailInABox (#miab) but for Mastodon? There is the Debian #FreedomBox, but I don't think Mastodon is included in that. It's provably only a matter of time and will though.
@remcoboerma
Right. That was the part I thought was problematic I think?
I'm glad yh has worked out for you! After a bit, there is nothing stopping you from doing a box from scratch either!
I must say though that mail setup is the trickiest thing to get right, so having yunohost do all the heavy lifting and guidance with dns is the way to go for mail.
Thanks very much for letting me know your experience with Mail In A Box. #miab
@lemeteore
@gemlog @lemeteore update on my journey. #miab requires dns servers to be pointed towards my vps, but my registrar requires at least 2 IPs. So I had to leave Miab for what it's worth.
I dd try #yunohost and I'm really impressed. Absolutely love what I see. I'll probably stick to that and will use it for more projects and things I host.
Fuck it, I'm gonna move my primary inbox to #MailInABox and just see what happens. If I'm happy after a couple of weeks I'll stick with it. If not, I can always go back to #ProtonMail. Bonus: I can host my static site within #MIAB π
