The architecture of Michael Hopkins had significant demonstration value in terms of serious consideration of environmental impacts, and in its thoughtful modes of contextual and historical thinking as well as structural and material innovation. If his works list looks like part of an establishment (so many prestige cultural commissions) there were also always smaller scale works.
