Nel 2010 il regista pluripremiato porta sullo schermo il terrificante romanzo del grande pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1952. Si tratta del secondo adattamento cinematografico dopo quello fatto da Burt Kennedy nel 1976, che risulta ad oggi introvabile (e chi lo ha visto sussurra …menomale).
