In 1981 is hij de drummer op het benefiet concert en opname van het live album Simon and Garfunkel in Central Park.
Gadd zal in 1983 ook deel uitmaken van #TheManhattanJazzQuintet.
In 1991 trekt hij terug op tournee met #PaulSimon, en vanaf 1994 tot 2007 is hij vast bandlid van #EricClapton.
En werkt ook nog live met #BBKing en #MichelPetrucciani.
In 2009 richt hij L'Image 2.0 op en later de #SteveGaddBand.
Hij wint verschillende grammy's.
