The #MicralN emulator is alive, alive!
Read more (in French) about it: https://mo5.com/site/avancees-sur-l-emulateur/
Will it run on the real hardware the same way?
(well, apart from the LED colors, which are RED on the real hardware)
Cette semaine dans la sage #MicralN , il a été possible d'interviewer un employé de la R2E, Jacky Dubois.

A #MicralN running in 2023? Yes. It does, smoothly.
Here's the story (in french, english translation incoming) : https://mo5.com/site/premier-demarrage-du-micral-n/
This is #MicralN time again, and this time in English! The four first articles have been translated and published.
https://mo5.com/site/en/acquisition-of-the-micral-n-by-the-mo5-association-2/ is about how this adventure started.
https://mo5.com/site/en/first-look-at-the-micral-n-by-mo5-association/ gives a first quick look on this particular Micral N
https://mo5.com/site/en/looking-for-documentation/ (hey, I wrote this one), is about accessible documentation... or the lack of it.
https://mo5.com/site/en/analysis-the-micral-n-electronic-boards/ gives an overview of some of the cards found inside this Micral N.
More to come later.
The subject of the weekly blog entry about the #MicralN restoration is about the « virtual clone » (well, an emulator) that I created while studying the hardware.
Blog entry still in french, sorry (I'll repost everything when the english translation will be available)

BUT!
More importantly, the source code of the emulator is now public.
This week in the « let's run this #MicralN » series, we have some bytes acquired.
By luck, the EPROM, which were uncovered, were readable, and the content makes sense!

Here's the new weekly article about the #MicralN, the first in the series that I wrote. It's about documentation, or the lack of it... So that's a short article, to the measure of the available documentation.
Still in french, but I'm told the English translations or the articles are about to show up.
Oh, and if you have Micral N documentation, or if you know what happened to the Living Computer Museum stock, please reach.
Something I like to do is modeling old computers with Blender. I'm not a professional modeler, but I like this activity nonetheless.
This is a way to me to know more about the computer.
Here's my take on the #MicralN
Second blog post about the #MicralN at Association MO5.com, where we can see some pictures of the actual computer as it was acquired.
https://mo5.com/site/premier-apercu-du-micral-n-de-lassociation-mo5/
Still in french. The first blog post has since been translated and should appear on the blog soon...
Two years ago, the #MicralN adventure with MO5.com preservation association started. Starting from today, we'll start to publish an article a week to tell this story.
French only at the moment, an English translation should follow « soon ».
First article, about the opportunity of getting the computer : https://mo5.com/site/micral-article1/
During the Paris Games Week #pgw , I was with #assomo5 live to talk about old micro-computers, including the #MicralN. (in french #retrocomputing ).
