So I’ve got a #RaspberryPi just sat there - from earlier in the year when we were looking for something for my eldest to start programming. Went with a #microbit in the end with a robot car to attach it to

But now I’m left with the #RaspberryPi - probably a good time to fish it out & do a side project for me? Believe it runs #python? I don’t know that language yet so that seems worth learning in time for eldest to go high school as they now do it there

Any pointers where to start with either?

well we actually have a shot of making these now. we'll have to replace the accel-gyro from the LSM6DS33 to LSM6DS33, maybe also the magnetometers but otherwise we can probably get these prototyped / PCBs ! @nicolay_lilicre Haha! Oui je me penche un peu plus sérieusement dessus. Jusque-là j’avais plutôt creusé les #microbit, mais mes collegues ne jurant que par #arduino, je me remets dedans ^_^ ca ressemble à du C mais avec quelques limitations, si j’ai bien compris.

I'm tinkering with some MicroBits (v1) lately, having a lot of fun with them since I found out you can program them with Python.

But I run into a problem when I want to use them with a pair of AAA batteries. Batteries are fine, above 3.1 V anyway. I've checked + and -, all okay. But MicroBit doesn't do a thing...

Amy suggestions?

Star Wars inspired Micro:Bit project - l337.py

loaded with snarky quotes from L3-37, Lando's droid in Solo, pressing A gives a snarky quote, then "hyperspace" and the display of a (real) constellation, pronouncing the name.
B repeats saying the constellation name
"shake" prints the name.

My second project is similar, "New Starfighter",

This navigates a long strip of stars. Up/Down moves the "ship" from 0-4 Y position. Tipping left/right streams the stars
left/right. A/B buttons "shoot" to the left/right.

Both projects are "in progress". More fidget spinner for now - but they were fun to play with.
