Giving up on Micro.Blog -- last three days it's been torture to update and change the page design and import my Twitter feed.

Not worth the pain or the hassle. Now Boles.co just points to Boles.com after an neverending 404 error -- what a lost opportunity!

Does anyone have both a micro.blog and regular blog? I miss micro.blog a bit because of the community and interaction there, but already paid for 2 years of wordpress hosting and don't want to *not* use it. How can I differentiate mastodon, a micro blog and a regular blog? Input welcome!

@jasonekratz I tried #MicroBlog, & it’s a great service, although I did not like the themes available (I am use to the highly customizable options on #WordPress & #Tumblr) & I did not like the inability to know who follows your site.

Even if follower-ship is kept private (like on Tumblr), it is encouraging to see who is following your blog.

I want to record an upcoming trip around Australia, primarily for family and friends, with a paragraph or two, photos, and maybe a video, daily, or as time permits. I am looking at micro.blog and write.as for a hosted solution. As aways there are pluses and minuses for both. I like the password option with write.as, but it would appear that I would have to host videos elsewhere, while micro.blog does support videos but requires family and friends to subscribe. Are there any other options, that implement ActivityPub, I should look at that allow me to keep ownership of the content? Any thoughts on either of these two? TIA

@SteveClough Correct. A ton of people rushed to make accounts and there is a lot of engagement right now owing to the novelty factor.

And yes, people will drop off.

But the smart thing about Threads is it has ZERO friction for onboarding new users AND retaining them. The only question is whether users can make it into a sustained habit. But, let's face it, this is Meta. They WILL make it happen...

In the long run, Meta might become to the #microblog #fediverse what Gmail is to email.

mit #kbin funktioniert es tatsächlich ein wenig anders: wird der Magazine-Account mit @ getaggt, landet der Post im Bereich #Microblog , aber nicht in Threads. Das funktioniert wohl nur von Friendica aus mit !
