It'd been a fun thing to tinker with for the past many months, but even with relays it's just nowhere near as useful as using a stable, multi-user instance. I'll be hanging my hat at #SDF from now on, and looking at reusing that prior domain as a personal blogging space.
What else is out there in the single-user, long-posting fediverse space? I'm aware of #microblogpub and #wordpress with the #fediverse addon.

It's not really complex but requires knowing a bit about #Docker and #Webserver config. So either have a friend with #Linux experience install it for you, or use #Wordpress (which AFAIR is simpler to install).
Feels like a missed opportunity though that #microblogpub seems like genuinely the right thing for you but isn't user friendly enough yet. Maybe someone should bundle it all in one nice package?

i really like the idea of federation and having independent instances interact with each other. this might be a good time for me to revive my dead website and #SelfHost an instance. #MicroblogPub looks promising as it's designed for single user and is very lightweight. i'm not a huge fan of its default theme though so looks like i need to write quite a few templates.

Installation was quite a bit more painful than it was for #GotoSocial, but to be honest #microblogpub wins in terms of interop with Mastodon.
There's no "user" to speak of so no question of having a client login to microblogpub. (The admin account has a password but no username afaict.)
