cons:

1. no bacteria resistence so clothes get stinky fast, thus frequent washing needed

2. microplastics leech into the water with every wash sending microplastics to city sewer systems which don’t typically filter microplastics so they go into rivers. (Perhaps non-issue for septic tanks)

pros:

3. needs no tumble drying; air-dries in an hour; huge+ in the US where all tumble dryers are vented

4? do the dyes of plastics leech out? Plastic colors seem to be baked in

Better yet, wear clothes made of shorn #wool, #hemp, #bamboo, or #OrganicCotton.

By one estimate, they account for as much as one-third of all microplastics released to the ocean. Using clothing as example, #polyester #microfiber #elastane #spandex are all #fossil fuel as are #plastic

Most people have/use these things but being aware of the problem first is the only way it will be solved

#Cigarettebutt filters are #toxic! They are made of a semisynthetic material and contribute to #microfiber pollution. They also contain 1000s of #chemicals. We found that leachates induced mortality and developmental deformities in midge larvae.

FYI: The #Amazon listing says 1-2 months, but it actually ships in more like 1-2 weeks at most. Amazon is just bad a estimating things.
This is because Amazon is currently working on disseminating the stock throughout their distribution network. Once that's done, the shipping times should go back down to just a couple of days like normal. :-)
