On paris's ban on rental scooters:

Considering how the rentals are scattered around they should rather work on a charging infrastructure and regulation than banning them which is really really stupid imho

Like what's so difficult about standardizing the charging stations and placing them in places where they do not block or obstruct the road/sidewalk and making people undergo some form of a training?

Judging by my experience in Brno where too many people seem to operate the escooters in an unsafe way.. Where the major difference seems to be people with a driver's license vs people without it.. as people with driver's license seems to generally apply the knowledge gained from driving the car like driving defensively and do not endanger people around you to the escooters while those without it just put the escooter to the max speed and drive on the sidewalk like retards.

For full transparency i have a driver's license and use my personal escoter with combination of tram and train as a preferred method to travel around central EU in both i can just fold it and have it as a personal luggage which takes less space than a small backpack (as i can put it between my legs in both standing and sitting position to not be an issue in a packed tram) and can be charged in the train at the luggage area.
