When I was a kid, my father bought one of those "Great Books" collections. One of them was "In Praise of Folly" with illustrations by Hendrik Willem Van Loon, a popular children's illustrator. I loved those quirky scratchy sketches and copied many of them. I guess I have incorporated that style into my adult life. Still quirky and scratchy.

Decided to dust off my colored pencils, haven’t used them in such a long time! It was such a nice refresher and I truly did miss using traditional media. I don’t miss how messy black ink can be though.
